Realizing that he can't remain a Hokkaido "yankee" forever, 22-year-old Matoba Ryousuke has moved to Tokyo to enter the next stage of his life. Tokyo does not seem to be the exciting and welcoming city he expected, though. On a whim, he decides to take the elevator of a posh hotel up to the top to see the city, when he suddenly meets the lovely Kanou Remi. Remi, a world famous fashion designer, actually lives in the hotel, and shows Ryousuke brief and unexpected kindness.
Determined to meet her again, Ryousuke goes with the only thing he really knows about her; that she has been to the Kabukichou district Romeo Host Club. But can an ex-thug, country boy like Ryousuke really become a host with all the other cultured, fancy bishounen types at the Romeo Club? And, more importantly, will this route be able to bring him closer to Remi? [tethysdust]

Ryosuke Matoba is a passionate guy who works at the prestigious nightclub for women, “Romeo,” in Kabuki-cho, Shinjuku. His only goal is to become the #1 “host” there. In reality though, most of the time he serves as the assistant to other hosts. What’s worse, his sales figures are always the lowest. Still, his pure-hearted and honest personality helps comfort the emotionally hamstrung women who come to the club. Will Ryosuke be able to conquer the city that never sleeps and become the yaoh (king of the night)?
This is the story of young hosts working in a nightclub for women in the neon-blazing Kabuki-cho. Every week, Ryosuke comes across female customers with interesting episodes and clashes with Seiya - currently ranking #1 in Romeo - and his group.
The manga was adapted into a live-action SP, Yaoh: King of the Night Special, released on May 11, 2005 and a drama, YAOH -King of the Night-, released from January 13 to March 24, 2006 on TBS.
