Hope is a story about a girl, Hikari, whose dream is to become a manga artist. We start off from her elementary school years, and the first 3 volumes takes us all the way past her high school years.

Although a shoujo manga by any definition, Hope also includes elements of classic shounen manga — chasing after dreams, borderline-magical scenes of the character speed-drawing, and many rivals throughout.
